Billionaire Bloggers

http://www.church-of-texas-holdem.com/images/pileofcash.jpgWho wants to read me anyway?!?

Don't you want to read someone who is a billionaire? I mean it's where most of us wish we were or are working towards, right? ;-)

I guess the question comes down to, is the billionaire REALLY penning his/her blog?

On this list the only active ones are the Mark Cuban, Donald Trump, and Carl Ichan blogs.

Cubans most recent post reflecting on the stock market is excellent.

eBay founder Pierre Omidyar's thoughts are good - although it's a blog that hasn't been updated in months.

If it anyone who I'd like to see blog, it's Sir Richard "Living the Virgin Life" Branson.

Embracing Social Media

I'm reading a fascinating article in The New York Times about impact of social media especially Facebook and Twitter. Sure I have over 1000 friends on Facebook now, but I can see the trend towards people creating garbage and dummy accounts to glean the contact information of those interested in trading.

I don't think that any social media can escape those who want to just take advantage of what it offers, but I do think for the average person it give an opportunity to make quality connections you otherwise wouldn't be able to make.

Trading, is not meant to be solitary. We can all learn from each other. Social media at its best can help enrich the time you spend online and who you come in contact with. At it's worst, you don't take the time to learn about it, and it becomes a colossal waste of time.

From Facebook, to MySpace, to Twitter, to Meetup, to Yelp, to any of the hundreds of other social media sites out there, which do you like, or don't like?

Live Blogging from the Forex Trading Expo

I will be in Las Vegas this week (Friday and Saturday) for the Forex Trading Expo and will be roaming the floor and rooms. During that time, I'll live blog and give updates of what I see, who I meet, and my thoughts on it all.

So, if you aren't going to be able to make it you can at least have some insight - and if you have any questions, you'll be able to pose them.

For those of you who intend to attend, one of the days I'll be wearing a bright orange Trading Post polo, so you won't miss me.

Just call me the walking pylon.
