Trading and Technology

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

I know I've gotten older when I come across younger family and friends I haven't seen for a number of years, and I remark, "Geez, you've grown." That used be people coming up to me telling me that.

With technology, even if you have "been" in or around hi-tech in the past, if you haven't been absolutely plugged in these past few years, you're being left in the dust.

You look up and the technology landscape is awash in social network giants Facebook and MySpace, varied upstarts from Videoegg to Twitter, solutions providers like Zoho and 37Signals - then there is Google which is seeking world domination gobbling up market share seemingly as fast as the GBP/JPY drops over 1300 pips (which happened in a span of days, really).

So what is my point? And how does this relate to trading?

Well online trading puts your eyeballs here - right at the computer screen. There are so many tools out there that will make your life so much easier and effective online. But it can be daunting and overwhelming. Don't let it get to you - there's a learning curve or a re-adjustment curve, for some.

I had a great conversation with Larry Hill, Trading Post's director of online training today regarding the Online Training Rooms, and shared my thoughts on RSS Feeds, and RSS Readers aka News Aggregators.

If you don't know what RSS is or have test driven an RSS Reader or two, you ought to. It'll give you a fresh look on how you gather information. You don't have to start by devouring all new technology that is out there. Baby steps.
